The presentation of the OnePlus 9 in Europe left us with several additional news. Along with these phones, the brand introduced its first smartwatch and also a new phone, the OnePlus 9R. A few weeks ago, the CEO of the firm confirmed that this model would be presented today.

The OnePlus 9R is a top-of-the-range phone Of the brand. Originally it was believed to be a mid-range successor to the OnePlus North, after this device performed well in markets such as India, but it is also a top-of-the-range, albeit a notch below the other two models. A model that seeks to succeed the OnePlus 8T with a more adjusted price in the high end.

An improved OnePlus 8T

In previous weeks, it was rumored that the OnePlus 9R would be a mid-range smartphone, successor to the OnePlus North in India, but it is closer to a phone like the OnePlus 8T. Although we can see that this device uses Snapdragon 870 as processor, the chip unveiled by Qualcomm in January. This puts the phone in the high end, with good performance, 5G connectivity as standard and makes it a good option in gaming.

The 6.55-inch AMOLED display in size makes good use of the front of the device. It has a hole where the 16MP front camera is located. This panel has Full HD + resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, for a good gaming experience. It also has a gaming mode to get the most out of it.

As for the cameras, this OnePlus 9R leaves us with four cameras on the back: 48 Mpx main sensor, 8 Mpx ultra wide angle, 5 Mpx macro and 2 Mpx black and white sensor. It is a solid combination of cameras, which will give excellent performance, both in still photos and in video recording.

This phone maintains the same battery with a capacity of 4500 mAh that we saw on the other two phones today. A battery that will give good autonomy, especially in combination with the processor used. The 65W wired fast charge also sticks, allowing your battery to recharge in just 29 minutes.

Pricing and availability

The OnePlus 9R 5G is a phone to launch in India first, where it will be available for booking in early April. It is launched in blue and black colors in two versions of RAM and internal storage, the prices of which confirmed in India are:

• The model with 8/128 GB is priced at Rs 39,999 (around 465 dollars to change).
• The 12/256 GB version is launched for 43,999 rupees (around 510 dollars to be changed).
