Apple held its first event of the year yesterday, it was a very dynamic keynote full of news. These types of online events allow Apple to record all videos in advance and create an almost cinematographic production of 60 minutes. Therefore, these are very fun and, most importantly, very fast-paced events.
Apple introduced a lot of new features and if you couldn’t follow the event we have a summary with everything presented and what may not have attracted so much attention.
Resumen del evento de Apple ‘Spring Loaded’
the The Apple event started with Tim Cook and that ended with the CEO too, but, as usual lately, we walked around different places in Apple Park to find some news.
New services
Tim Cook began by talking about Apple’s goal: to be carbon neutral by 2030, but also quickly introduced new features. The first two are related to your services.
- Apple Card. Tim did not reveal the release date of the Apple Card in Europe or other countries, but he did reveal the Apple Card family, which allows users to share the same Apple Card with other family members. .
- Podcast subscriptions. Podcasts are having a blast, and Apple has announced a renewed app that will allow us to subscribe and financially support our favorite podcasts.
iPhone 12 in purple
Tim Cook also spoke about the iPhone 12, “the world’s most popular smartphone”, and introduced us to a new purple color we had never heard of it. IPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini have a new purple color in addition to the current blue, white, black, green and red.
AirTag
We had been listening for many months to information about this long-awaited device and finally, during this April keynote, Apple presented it. AirTags are small and light device that we can locate in a simple way from our iPhone.
It is ideal to use as a keychain or in a backpack, suitcase or valuables so you can locate it at any time. It is a waterproof device with a built-in speaker. Thanks to its U1 chip, we can easily locate it from the Find app on your iPhone.
Apple TV 4K
The Apple TV 4K has also been renewed, although in this c ase it is a slight update. We continue to maintain the design and, mainly, we find two novelties:
iMac
One of the most anticipated devices has finally been given a facelift, and it has done so in style. Apple has renewed its iMac with a new colorful design and the arrival of the M1 processor.
The new iMac has a thickness of only 1.15 cm, tighter edges and a 24 inch 4.5K screen with True Tone technology. The FaceTime camera has also improved to 1080p resolution and the microphones are now “studio quality”.
The new iMac comes with a new Magic Keyboard with the possibility of having Touch ID, and with a Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad with matching colors. Is available in green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue and silver.
- Price: from 1449 dollars.
iPad Pro
The last device to be introduced was the new iPad Pro, and that was a huge surprise. Now IPad Pro uses the same processor as MacsIn other words, the M1 chip is the brain of Apple’s new professional iPad.
The 11 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2021 uses the M1 chip with an 8-core processor and an 8-core graphics processor. It has a new Thunderbolt connector, via the same USB-C port and the larger 12.9-inch model also has a new mini-LED display, which Apple has dubbed “Liquid Retina XDR”. This display has approximately 2,500 local dimming zones, allowing a contrast ratio of 1,000,000: 1 and maximum brightness of 1,600 nits.
We also have a new ultra wide angle front camera with tracking technology that will always keep us in the center of the frame during a FaceTime video call. In addition, we have up to 16 GB of RAM and 2 TB of internal storage.
It was everything Apple presented at its long-awaited event in April, many new devices that we expected. The next date on the calendar will be WWDC 2021, in which we will see the new operating systems.
