September is always a good month for Apple fans. This is usually the month in which new iPhones and the new Apple Watch are introduced. This year it should be the turn of the iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8 models, as well as a renewed Apple Watch SE and a new Apple Watch Pro.
This is also the time when new operating systems move from beta to mainstream availability. That means we’ll see iOS 16 and watchOS 9 arrive, although it looks like iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura probably won’t arrive until next October.
beyond the event Far, in September there will also be the typical launches of Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade. Maybe the company will announce something new on September 7th. A busy month is coming and we will present it below.
What Apple hardware products will arrive in September 2022?
Apple’s heaviest product is the iPhone, so its biggest launch this year will also be the next-generation iPhone, the iPhone 14.
In this year’s event, which they titled as Farfour new models are expected: standard models and Pro models in standard size and Max size.
The Pro stands out as the big star of the event. It would have a new always-on display, big improvements in the camera and the new A16 processor. The larger iPhone 14 Max is also expected to be one of the most popular models.
Apple always launches the new iPhone with the new generation of Apple Watch. This year’s model (the Apple Watch Series 8) isn’t expected to change much, but it would be nice if they added a new temperature sensor.
On the other hand, we think Apple could also introduce a new Apple Watch SE, for those on a budget. But the main novelty would be the Apple Watch Pro, which should have a new design, a larger screen, a robust body and a larger battery than the Series 8.
Apple may have more surprises in store and may announce the second-generation AirPods Pro or another device at the event. But there will also likely be a second event this fall, in October, to showcase new Macs or iPads.
What Apple software will arrive in September 2022?
The time of year has finally arrived when the big updates to Apple’s operating systems arrive, which leave the beta phase behind and become available to everyone.
While the new iOS, tvOS, and watchOS will be released in September, iPadOS has been delayed until October, the month in which macOS Ventura is also expected to arrive.
iOS16
iOS 16 brings many exciting new features. We expect the final version to arrive just before the new iPhones, in the second week of September.
iPadOS 16.1 beta
Apple will skip the release of iPadOS 16.0 and directly release iPadOS 16.1 probably in October. In iPadOS 16, the most notable new feature is the Visual Organizer, although it’s only available for iPads with M1.
macOS 13 Venture beta
New to macOS 13 include Continuity Camera apps, Weather and Clock, Visual Organizer, and other updates. The updates usually arrive after the iOS ones, so they could arrive in October or November.
watch OS 9
watchOS 9 brings news in sleep tracking, features aptitude and new spheres. It should arrive alongside iOS 16, shortly before the launch of the new (or new) Apple Watch.
tvOS 16
Although tvOS 16 will not bring many new things, it will still be updated this fall to be in line with other operating systems. It is likely to arrive with the new iOS and watchOS.
What’s new coming to Apple services in September 2022?
Other novelties that we can firmly affirm are those that arrive in two of Apple’s services: Apple TV + and Apple Arcade.
