Samsung introduced its artificial intelligence platform, Galaxy AI, in January 2024, alongside the then late generation of its smartphones, the Galaxy S24. Now, a year later and after many tests and uses of the different artificial intelligence tools available in a single user interface, I am clear on my favorite, at least so far.
And it is that Samsung, with the new Galaxy S25, has presented new AI tools that, many of them, will be available with the One UI 7 update on more of the company's devices. Without a doubt, I really want to try functions such as “Now Bar” and “Noe Brief” on a daily basis, but in the meantime, in this first year of the Galaxy Ai there is an artificial intelligence tool that has conquered me : “Roda in search”. East A tool so versatile I can't stop using it.
'Roda to Search' is a great example of how to bring AI to the present day

Galaxy AI, and in general the artificial intelligence brought to our devices, often seems to feature the creation of images through generatives and chatbots to answer our questions, in addition to image editing tools that allow us to eliminate objects and people from our Photos (with very good results).
Yes, it is likely that at least once a day we ask chattppt oa gemini a question, but how many times do we really need to make a curious image with generative? These types of tools are cool and can be useful, but they're not something you use all the time. We can make a funny image or wallpaper for the mobile, but it is not something that is part of my daily routines and the use that I constantly give to the mobile.
And the same can be said of other functions as, Although they are useful and powerful tools, we will only use them in specific cases. For example, Galaxy AI's real translator works great, but it's not something to use every day. Of course, it became a tool that helped me a lot in one of my last trips.

“Roda in search”, on the other hand, is an AI tool that is part of my day. This is an excellent example of How to bring artificial intelligence to real, practical use. I don't mean that the tools and functions I mentioned above are not at all important to date, “I'm looking for” I have found the most useful of all, to date.
While all the AI features in Samsung's Galaxy and Android are useful and interesting, “Roda to Search” managed to be essential for me. I use it every day
This function, which was released in the Samsung Galaxy S24 but is already available for many other devices from several brands, could be summarized as the evolution of Google Lens, but with superpowers. When we click on the bar at the bottom of the screen (or on the Start button, if you don't use gestures on your mobile)
- Search everything on the screensimply by surrounding the part of the image of our interest with your finger
- Translate text on screenwhich is very useful if, for example, we want to translate the text of an image
- Find a songa kind of integrated shazam
- And search directly on Google using voice, As if it were Google Assistant

And the recognition ability of “Roda to search” is really accurate. This tool managed to recognize a band I saw at a concert and took a photo of its members from about 30 meters away. Recognize food dishes (like in the previous image), sneaker models, actors in a trailer and Basically anything.
You can also translate texts to web pages (for those times when direct access to Google Translate in Chrome fails), I can Take a photo of something in another language, translate the text and search for information Very quickly (ideal for when I'm shopping at a supermarket for Asian products), recognize a song just by humming what I remember, and much more.
The success of “Roda to Search” is that it has become a tool that naturally uses. I've automated, so to speak, the idea that if I need information about something I see on the screen, I just tap the bottom bar on the screen and request this tool. It has become an essential tool for me, and another reason why I always prefer Android instead of iOS.
I really want to try the new features of a UI 7 in terms of artificial intelligence, to see if another function, such as “surround to search”, manages to become something important for my daily life. Meanwhile, I am clear that “surroundings to search” has been one of the best Android news in recent years.
