This took a lot longer than expected, but here it is: Android Auto 11.0 can now be downloaded from Google Play, without beta or APK. This update comes one month after the last stable version and three weeks after its beta release. This, knowing that the latest versions only took a week to go from beta to stable version.
Android Auto changes numbers although we already know that version changes do not necessarily come with new features. However, in this new version we will notice that the icons can have another shape, depending on the brand of our mobile.
Android Auto 11.0 with new icons
Android Auto goes up to eleven and changes numbers, something that hasn’t happened since July when version 10.0 officially launched. Like always, We tested Android Auto 11.0 in search of new featuressince the official list of changes on Google Play remains frozen in time.
Something you’ll notice as soon as you update to Android Auto 11.0 is that icons can have a completely different shape to the one they had before. In fact, from now on Android Auto will in a certain way “inherit” the configuration of the shape of the mobile icons to use them in the car, so instead of being circular as until now they could be square in shape with rounded edges, circles or others.
This is the only change we’ve seen, although hopefully Google has taken the opportunity to correct an error or make internal changes that will be activated later on the server side.
Speaking of server-side changes, ones we’ve encountered in the past they are still waitingnotably the possibility of using the same wallpaper as on the mobile, Zoom support, the overhaul of the settings with Material You or the setting to change the application that opens at startup which we were able to see briefly in april.
Now that Android Auto 11.0 is released as a stable version, you should receive the update normally via Google Play. If you want download and update to Android Auto 11.0do this:
