Apple is often reluctant to spot problems on devices that should be included in its free repair program. This was the case at the time with the unhappiness caused by the butterfly keyboard, and many repairs, until eventually the company decided to withdraw it. Now also in relation to MacBook Air, Apple has agreed that other models may have them screen problems.
In particular, and as the company mentioned in a document addressed to authorized service providers, retina display on certain MacBook computers, MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro may indicate uncontrolled binding issues, a condition we once believed to affect only the MacBook Pro.
Apple admits a certain MacBook Air may have screen problems
Apple has realized that the MacBook Air may present the problem, which is why customers are expected to be able to access at least the free repair under warranty, when the model is finally included in the repair program's eligibility list. Apple launched the program in 2015
So far the fix list supports the following models:
- MacBook Pro (13-inch, early 2015)
- MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid-2015)
- MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016)
- MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016)
- MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017)
- MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017)
- MacBook (12-inch, early 2015)
- MacBook (12-inch, early 2016)
- MacBook (12-inch, early 2017)
