As the iPad Pro begins to be seen in the early reviews of those to whom Apple sends devices to take their videos, Apple has introduced a new feature already introduced in the iPhone 12 through which iPadOS can now be updated over a 5G network.
With the launch of the iPhone 12, the first to have 5G connectivity, Apple has added additional features to iOS to allow updating of the operating system while connected to a 5G network
The support page, titled “Use 5G on your iPad”, Shows users how to manage data connectivity on their iPad Pro 2021 models. In a section on data modes, it should be noted that users can now configure the “Use more data in 5G” option in iPadOS.
By selecting this option, the iPad is allowed to use more data in its system tasks as well as in certain features of the application, like enabling better picture quality through FaceTime during video calls. This will also allow the ability to update iPadOS via a 5G data network.
Apple also warns that functionality may come by default for users with unlimited data rate and depending on carrier
- Open the app Settings
- To open Mobile data and later Options
- To select “Data mode”
- Activate “More information on 5G“
In this way, we can always keep our device up to date despite the fact that we cannot find WiFi (something which, if we have the availability to connect to a 5G network, it will be a strange case). Yet another new feature for an iPadOS which, little by little, begins to become a much more powerful operating system to transform the iPad into a complete tool and with the capacity to replace the PC in many tasks.
