Apple announces its 2024 App Store Award winning apps and games across all operating system categories
Those from Cupertino announced the winners of the best applications and games of the year, recognizing a total of 17 developers who are part of the App Store. According to the press release, they are recognized because they “helped users awaken their creativity, reach new milestones and appreciate everyday moments with family and friends.” 45 finalists were chosen by the App Store editors, taking user experience, design and innovation as criteria.

The iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro have their winners in two categories, applications and games (except Apple Watch and Apple TV in the latter). Balatro+ was touted as the Apple Arcade game of the year, available on all Apple operating systems.

Everyone is distinguished by having something valuable. For example, the Kino app for iPhone offers “movie-inspired” filters as well as advanced controls. The iPad is an essential device in the lives of musicians and this could not be explained without the Moises application, which benefited from AI tools. A well-known classic photo editor like Lightrooom occupies a special place among Mac users. Meanwhile, Lumy on Apple Watch is known for its excellent monitoring of sun behaviors. On Apple TV, F1 races couldn't be broadcast better than with F1 TV.

In addition to the featured Apple Arcade game, there are other interesting titles that have won awards on Apple operating systems. On iPhone, the winner was AFK Journey in a tactical adventure game. What if… An immersive story about Apple Vision Pro
In Apple Vision Pro, the app of the year was What If…? An immersive Marvel story. For fans of the superhero franchise, this will be an unforgettable experience. As for the game of the year, THRASHER: Arcade Odyssey stood out by offering access to a cosmic world with superb graphics.

Six apps and games were also recognized for the Cultural Impact Award. This award was born in “recognition of the lasting impact” they have had on users.
