Bombazo. The medium Puck reports that Apple would be interested in acquiring Electronic Arts (the EA)one of the biggest video game developers that had not yet been absorbed by big tech companies as happened with Activision Blizzard (now owned by Microsoft) or Bungie (now owned by Sony)
The Sims, Mass Effect, Battlefield… could become Apple
EA is the studio responsible for video games such as The Sims, the Battlefield saga, Mass Effect, Dragon Age or Apex Legends, to name a few. They’ve also developed several games for franchises like Star Wars (and more are on the way), so the operation would be one of the largest and most important that Apple would do in its history.
At this time, an EA spokesperson would not respond to “rumors and speculation”, but that Apple considered buying a study of this size implies that they do not want to be left behind on the market of video game
The talks seem very early at the moment, so anything can happen. If EA were part of Apple, it would be a very serious foray into the world of video game, both for mobile games and for the big console games that might make their appearance on the Mac or the “Apple Glass” that have been in the works for years. At the moment, the only thing we can do is to be patient and to be attentive to any news that reaches us.
