Apple plans to cancel its FineWoven covers after 8 months of existence

Fundas FineWoven Apple

In September last year, Apple announced significant and forceful measures to reduce environmental impact the company. Among some of these measures was stopping the use of leather in all products, including iPhone accessories and Apple Watch bands. In exchange, Apple would launch a new line of accessories with a new material they would call Finewoven. However, the results in terms of sales and quality of this equipment have not completely convinced users and a report indicates that Apple could cancel the entire FineWoven line,

but not before launching a new range of new colors.

A possible end for FineWoven, but first new colors

A known fugitive posted on your X account (former Twitter) that Apple plans abandon the production of FineWoven iPhone cases, due to poor user reviews and the quality of the new hardware. Let us recall, as we mentioned, that this new material consisted of a fine braided fabric with a sustainable twill fabric containing 68% post-consumer recycled materials. This maneuver by Apple reinforced its commitment to the environment during the September 2023 keynote.

FineWoven production may end after Apple offers users a new batch of colors, while waiting for Cupertino to design a new line of accessories in the FineWoven range, but with higher quality and this does not represent a setback in Apple’s argument to reduce its carbon footprint.

However, this information clashes a bit with Apple’s reality. With the iPhone 16 set to launch in September, It is illogical to think that we will have a new season of FineWoven colors because if they canceled the cases they would not think about adapting them to the iPhone 16. Therefore, the only solution is that during the May keynote they announce new colors and in September they launch their new range of shells with a different material that we knew until now.
