Podcast subscriptions came after Apple announced in its last address. It is with iOS 14.6 that Apple officially integrated subscriptions to specific channels and programs, a feature to bring users closer to the creator. Thanks to the ability to provide special content, these subscriptions are offered as one of the great podcasting successes for Apple. However, The Apple Podcasts team has confirmed that the official launch of subscriptions is postponed until June,

with the aim of fine-tuning the details and providing the best experience for designers.

Unexpected delay for Apple Podcast content subscriptions

To ensure we provide the best experience for creators and listeners, Apple Podcast subscriptions and channels will launch in June. We will communicate further updates on availability and best practices to help you prepare your subscriptions and channels through this newsletter.

Over the past few weeks, some creators have experienced delays in getting their content available and accessing ‌Apple Podcasts‌ Connect. We have resolved these issues and encourage creators with problems to contact us.

A few hours ago, the Apple Podcasts team sent out this statement to the entire community of content creators within this platform. It is a new deadline for the launch of subscriptions that appeared in iOS 14.6. Creators need to register and set up their podcast through the Apple Podcasts Connect platform and this tool has been having problems in recent weeks.

They will likely coincide with the refinement of the tool for the arrival of subscriptions and specific channels from Apple. The only thing we can confirm is that the launch of the subscriptions will not see the light until June of that same year. However, let’s not wait until the first week … failure to set a release date allows Apple to invest the four weeks in content that users want.
