The same story repeats itself, Apple has raised the price of all iPads and accessories, new and old.
It’s becoming a tradition, Apple has just introduced new iPad Pro and iPad 10th generation and, as we’ve seen all this 2022, we’ve seen a aggressive price increases across virtually the entire iPad and accessories lineup. We’ve already seen it with the MacBook Air a few months ago and with the iPhone 14, and now it’s happened with the iPad.
What is surprising is that not only are the new models more expensive, but the price of the old iPad and its accessories has also increased. What is rare is inflation, since prices in the United States have not changed, and this will probably affect most markets, including Europe.
Everything that has increased in price in the Apple Store
As they say, virtually all iPads and accessories have gone up in price. It’s not just that, for example, the new 10th generation iPad went up to 579 dollars, when the 9th generation cost 379 dollars, it’s that this same previous generation continues to be sold at a much higher price.
Here are all the iPads and accessories that have increased in price in the Spanish Apple Store:
- 11-inch iPad Pro: from 879 to 1,049 dollars.
- 12.9-inch iPad Pro: from 1,199 to 1,449 dollars.
- ipad air: from 679 to 769 dollars.
- ipad mini: from 549 to 649 dollars.
- iPad (9th generation): from 379 to 429 dollars.
- Apple Pencil (1st generation): from 99 to 119 dollars.
- Apple Pencil (2nd generation): from 135 to 149 dollars.
- magic keyboard: from 339 to 369 dollars.
- Smart keyboard case: from 199 to 219 dollars.
- Smart keyboard: from 179 to 199 dollars.
As you can see, we are facing very significant price increases. Practically all iPad models have increased by around 100 dollars, around 200 in the case of the new iPad Pro. Of course, a price increase that can greatly affect the sales of these Apple devices.
It is true that, as we have already seen in the case of the iPhone 14, Apple has its reasons for this price increase. It is simply a matter of applying the current exchange rate, and at the moment the euro is very weak against the dollar, the currency in which the Californian company operates. However, impacting the user with this difference will only generate one thing: bad sales.
Buying an Apple device right now, whether it’s an iPhone or an iPad, is much more expensive. And the same will happen with the next devices that Apple will present this year, because it is a trend that does not seem to change anytime soon.
