Apple just released candidate builds of upcoming iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4 developer updates
them to try. The software arrived a week after the release of the fourth beta versions.

Registered developers will be able to download 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4 updates wirelessly. This after installing the profile from the Developer Center. It is expected that in the future, beta updates will not require a profile and can be performed directly on the device via a login linked to a developer account.

But it doesn’t all end there! Since Apple also provided a new iOS 15.7.4 beta for those who are still using iOS 15 on their devices.

What’s new in this update

The iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4 updates bring the following new features:

  • 31 new emoji characters have been added among which stand out: pink heart, light blue heart, shaking head, donkey, moose, jellyfish, black bird, ginger, etc. Additionally, various skin tones have been included for the left and right hands.
  • Safari web push notifications have been added to iPhone and iPad, so that users can receive them from web pages they have added to their device’s home screen. They are identical to the notifications you receive from websites on your Mac and behave like any other iOS notification.
  • Third-party browsers like Chrome now allow users to add websites to the home screenand the HomeKit architecture update has been reintroduced.
  • Changes have been made to Podcasts and a minor update to Apple Music. which includes new features.
  • have been incorporated new options for shortcuts.
  • A new page-turning animation has been introduced in Apple Books.
  • Voice isolation for cellular calls that prioritizes voice and blocks out ambient noise around you.
  • Setting to automatically darken the video when strobe effects or flashes of light are detected.
  • Fixed child purchase requests not showing up on parent’s device.
  • Improved fault detection on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models.
