Apple just released the macOS 12.3 fifth beta for developers. A beta that, even with the amount of news we saw in the first and then in the second, slowed down in the third and fourth betas. It is this rhythm, focused on fine-tuning details and improving performance, that we therefore expect for this fifth beta.
A beta with Universal Control as the main novelty
The main novelty of macOS 12.3 is the arrival of Universal Control, the system that allows us to control an iPad from the Mac keyboard and vice versa. A system that has shown excellent performance since the first version, but which has evolved in each of the different betas. Although at the user level it works, at the moment, very well, it is very possible that Apple uses this fifth beta to finishing polishing details inside
Although we cannot exclude that Apple surprises us with news, everything seems to indicate that in this update the Cupertino company will focus on improve all the novelties that we have already seen. News, perhaps more important on iOS, but very important to consider on macOS.
If we want to enter the beta cycle we can do it by following these steps or by creating a bootable installer for the system, but we must bear in mind that we are talking about development versions with bugs.
Already in the beta cycle we will find the update in System Preferences > Software update as OTA update. During the first few hours, Apple’s servers may receive more requests than usual, so the wait time may be longer.
