Apple has decided to advance the development of Apple Intelligence by launching the first beta version of iOS 18.1

- A new section at the top of the inbox displays the most urgent emails, like a same-day dinner invitation or a boarding pass.
- In a user’s inbox, instead of previewing the first few lines of each email, they can view summaries without opening a message.
- Smart Reply provides tips for quick response and will tag questions in an email to ensure all replies are answered.
- Reduce interruptions– A new approach that only shows notifications that might require immediate attention, such as text about an early daycare pickup.
- New features for photos:
- Natural language can be used to search for specific photos, such as “Maya skating in a tie-dye shirt” or “Katie with stickers on her face.”
- Video Search adds the ability to search for specific moments within clips so users can jump* directly to the relevant segment.
- Memories: Users can create the story they want to see by simply writing a description. Using language and image understanding, Apple Intelligence will choose the best photos and videos based on the description, create a story with chapters based on themes identified in the photos, and organize them into a movie with its own narrative arc.
- Transcriptions: summaries of transcriptions.
There are other Apple Intelligence features such as Image Playground, Genmoji, priority notifications or a more powerful Siri with ChatGPT integration that for the moment still not available. We will have to wait for future betas.
How to Install iOS 18.1 Beta on Your iPhone
