After releasing iOS 17.4.1 last week, Apple released a small update for macOS 14.4.1 that contains many bug fixes that plagued Mac users during the month of March. Apple’s release notes indicate that the following bugs have been fixed in the update:
- USB hubs connected to external displays may not be recognized.
- Copy-protected Audio Unit plug-ins designed for professional music applications may fail to open or pass validation.
- Applications including Java may close unexpectedly.
The bugs listed fix most major bugs that appeared after the macOS 14.4 update arrived on March 7. The only other unlisted bug involves a version of a file not being saved when added to iCloud Drive. However, Apple probably also fixed this issue via update or a server-side iCloud patch.
In addition to the bug fixes, macOS 14.4.1 also includes a pair of security updates. Apple refused to release details about security updates when iOS 17.4.1 arrived last week, but has now shared information about patches that affect CoreMedia and WebRTC.
