The company is preparing a big investment to acquire the broadcasting rights for the English league.
One of the latest big news stories from the Daily Mail suggests that Apple could soon broadcast Premier League football matches via its Apple TV+ streaming platform.
Apparently the company is preparing a good economic offer to procure english league rights. Recall that Apple has managed to reach an agreement to acquire the broadcasting rights of MLS very recently on Apple TV +. Major League Soccer can already be seen via streaming and also MLB, Major League Baseball.
In addition, the company has already positioned itself to try to broadcast Eredivisie football matches, the Dutch league. Can he do the same with the English Premier League?
Apple TV+ users will be able to stream the English League
There are many streaming apps to watch football from iPhone and from iPad. But doing it through the Apple TV+ platform adds an extra plus of functionality thanks to its software’s excellent integration into the operating system.
From Apple, they were in negotiations with the NFL (National Football League) of the United States for broadcasting American football matches on Sundays, but it was YouTube that ended up taking the duck overboard.
Anyway, now Apple is already preparing a large sum of money to put forward a bid to acquire the rights to the Premier League. It would be a big step for Apple in Europe, and who knows if the next league viewable on Apple TV+ could be the Spanish league. Can you imagine enjoying El Clásico on Apple TV+? Ugh…
The agreement could reach a total of $250 million per year
Everything points to Apple will not acquire the exclusive rights and which will be distributed on different streaming platforms and TV channels. In fact, the terms of Premier League packages clearly state that no company can obtain the rights to exclusive football matches.
What do you think of this interesting decision by Apple? Do you think that in the future Apple TV+ could acquire the rights to the Spanish league?
