A few years ago, Apple TV+ arrived on the market and started with its own productions to create a unique catalog in the industry. There are not as many movies as MAX, nor as many series as Netflix, but The quality is consistent among its titlesand the few that come out of this hegemony do it for the best. One of the latest thrillers on TV+ is “Kidnapping in the Air”. It is about a flight to London taken over by a group of terrorists without anyone but the passengers knowing. Little by little, the authorities realize that something is wrong.and from there chaos breaks out.
A series that will take your breath away
They say that the best TV series, like the best books, can be summed up in a single sentence, even if an entire universe lies within. In the case of “Hijacking,” that rule applies: a negotiator must attempt to peacefully end the hijacking of a seven-hour flight from Dubai to London. And that’s it.
This series, composed of seven chapters and with a second season officially confirmed, represents an hour of flight in each episode. In fact, They last about that, between 60 minutes. And it’s been a long time since a production of this type has hooked me so much. I watched the four chapters that were available when I discovered it on repeat, and from then on, I eagerly awaited every Wednesday for Apple to release a new opus.
Idris Elba, who was at the time a serious contender for the legendary 007 role, stars as Sam, a businessman who uses his wit, intelligence and cunning to save his escape from a catastrophic end. He tries to befriend the kidnappers. Let them see you as someone they trust. His role ends up being decisive as the plot evolves.

Each episode ends with something that makes you want to see the next one, especially the transition from the sixth to the seventh, but we’d better let you discover them for yourself. An ending you are not prepared for
The ending of “Kidnapping in the Air” is absolutely apotheotic, and it is only at the last moment that it is revealed how everything will end. And they are still able to keep an ace up their sleeve. This generates a feeling of uncertainty in the viewer who, in a way, forces him to continue watching the series because he wants to know how it ends. With every minute that passes, everything seems to have less order and control, but it makes more sense. It’s a strange feeling, and until you experience it, you don’t know what it is.
With all the episodes available and a sequel confirmed, I recommend binge-watching it whenever you have the time, and chances are you’ll get hooked. We don’t know if this second season will live up to this one, because I have a hard time imagining it. how they will trap the Elbe again for seven hours. But if the Apple TV+ writers have shown anything with “Presumed Innocent” or “Crime Story,” it’s that they are capable of pushing a simple idea much further than what we could initially imagine.
