Apple unveiled the new MacBook Air models of 13 and 15 inch on Wednesday, while the company continued its week of product advertisements on the air theme. The new MacBook Airs are not exactly revolutionary – it is not a surprise that Apple did not think that it is necessary to save them for a successful press event – but their upgrades are worth it. They certainly surpass the disappointing refreshment of the Ipad Air from the day before.
Like this new iPad, new MacBooks are based on processor upgrade: the two models are now running an M4 (up to an M3). This is the most recent and powerful generation of Apple chips, so you can expect fast performance and perform. Simply keep in mind that this is only the basic edition with an 8 -core GPU or a GPU with 10 cores, and the faster Pro and Max versions are always exclusive to the MacBook Pro.
Performance will also be helped by an extended range of memory allowances. After an update in October which doubled the entry -level RAM, Air M3 was available with 16 GB or 24 GB of RAM, but these new models are delivered with 16 GB, 24 GB or a new 32 GB option. If you start with the basic configuration of the 13 -inch MBA, the increase of 32 GB will cost you $ 400 /400.
There is also a new camera, and this could make a big difference for remote workers who count on videoconference to stay in touch. While the M3 MacBook Air had a simple 1080p facetime camera, the new models have a 12MP central camera that supports the desktop view. This could prevent you from having to buy a separate webcam (although the continuity camera is another useful option).

Apple
The latest serious improvement for professional users is that new models support two external screens in addition to the integrated screen. MacBook is broadcast from only two generations behind could only run one external screen, while generation M3 increased this up to two, but only when the lid was closed for a total of two. This latest generation M4 allows you to spread on three screens.
The battery on the 13 -inch model is slightly larger than that of its M3 equivalent (53.8 Wh, against 52.6 Wh), but that does not seem to make a lot of difference because the estimates of the lifespan of the Apple battery remain the same. 15 -inch models have identical battery sizes. A more significant difference, although cosmetic, is the arrival of a new sky blue color, which replaces the gray space. The other options are Silver, Starlight and Midnight.
And finally, and perhaps the most pleasant of all, the air has experienced a price drop. It now starts at $ 999 / £ 999, a drop of $ 100 / £ 100 on the previous generation. Pre -orders start today and the units will be shipped and will appear in stores on March 12.
