It's been a while since we got a new Apple Watch SE: after the first version of Apple's SmartWatch Budget in 2020 and the second in 2022 with few changes, the company kept silent on other versions. But new reports suggest that we will finally see the 3rd generation SE later in 2025, and that it will come in two new sizes.
Tuesday, Ross Young, a remarkably reliable leak and analyst that covers the screen supply chain, tweeted that two Apple Watch screens entered production. (The tweet is reserved for subscribers.) The displays, he estimate, measure approximately 1.6 and 1.8 inches respectively.
It is not easy to make a direct comparison between these numbers and those that apply to current models, because Apple gives the specifications of its intelligent watch in a different format – such as the height of the case, rather than the diagonal measure of the screen that we would touch for all other products. For screen dimensions, we must satisfy the various third -party measures that you will find on the web, which vary from one site to another. But whatever the sources you use, it seems that the new models are probably moving from a series of series 6 to a 7 series. Which probably means a simultaneous switch of 40 mm and 44 mm boxes in 41 and 45 mm.
In addition to pointing a slight increase in size, there have been long -standing rumors of a new design of plastic chassis, although more recent relationships have made a doubt about this prediction and left the future of the line in limbo. The report does not mention any other feature, although it seems likely that the will finally get a display always on, as well as a more recent processor, and perhaps a temperature or ECG sensor.
After stopping the iPhone line is earlier this year, and its replacement with the more expensive iPhone 16th, it seemed possible that Apple withdraws from the budgetary market and completely removes the SE line. However, this last rumor can be considered as something close to the confirmation that Apple will keep the Apple low -end watch in life, although it is possible that Apple changes the name of the Apple Watch 11th.
But it seems that we can look towards a new Apple Watch is in September, alongside the series 11 (and perhaps the Ultra 3, although if it respects a biennial version calendar, the ultra lines and in the future have updates in alternative falls) and the iPhone 17.
