A few weeks ago, the new design of the Apple Watch Series 7 was confirmed, according to Jon Prosser of course. And now it’s Mark Gurman’s turn to overtake us in Bloomberg nail good amount of news to come on the next Apple Watch.
Apple could introduce this year the biggest redesign the Apple Watch has ever seen, but that would not be all. Gurman reports many other developments aside from the straighter design similar to the iPhone 12.
Between these main new features of the Apple Watch Series 7, we have thinner bezels, a faster processor and the U1 Ultra Wideband chip like the one found in the most recent iPhone models and which allows us to locate much more precisely.
What’s new in Apple Watch Series 7
It seems that this year the improvements focus on design aspects and that the improvement of the sensors is delayed for some time. Last year, the Apple Watch Series 6 already included a new sensor capable of measuring the level of oxygen in the blood, but this year we may not see any news.
While Gurman doesn’t talk about the flat-sided overhaul that Prosser unveiled, he does say that the screen bezels will be thinner. In addition, Apple will also use a new laminating technique that reduces the space between the screen and the glass. On the other hand, the watch case may be slightly thicker, although that is not something we are going to achieve.
“For this year’s model, Apple tested thinner bezels and a new lamination technique that brings the screen closer to the front bezel. The new watch is likely to be slightly thicker overall, but not in a way that is noticeable to the wearer.“.
As we can see, in terms of sensors, this is not good news. Series 7 won’t improve as much as expected, says Gurman Apple was hoping to include a long-awaited thermometer and blood glucose meterHowever, this appears to have been delayed.
“Apple was aiming to install a body temperature sensor in this year’s model, but it’s now more likely to be included in the 2022 update. The blood glucose sensor, which is said to help diabetics monitor their glucose levels, will be ready for commercial launch for several more years
On the other hand, based on the previous rumor from Gurman himself about an Apple Watch for extreme athletes arriving this year, the leaker has now revised that expectation and says that will not arrive before 2022 as soon as possible.
