As published by The Irish Times this week Apple will provide details for more information regarding its trading activity in Ireland. Apple has apparently changed its working environment in Ireland and will start publishing its accounts every year.
Apple tax in Ireland
Apple uses its base in Ireland to move revenue from its operations in central Europe and pay a 12.5% tax. After The European Union accuses Ireland that its dealings with Apple were illegal
As Apple said at the time:
The European Commission launched an Apple rewriting campaign in Europe, ignoring Ireland's tax laws, and radically changed the global tax system. An opinion issued on August 30 states that Ireland has provided special tax treatment for Apple. This statement is not based on facts or rules. We have never asked and we have never received any special treatment. We are now in the special situation we are it requires a reconciliation payment of additional tax from the government saying we owe nothing
of what we have already paid.Apple complies with the rules and pays all taxes on all sites where it operates. We will appeal and we are confident that the decision will be ours.
So far Apple had a "unlimited" working environment in Ireland, so it didn't have to publish its public accounts leading to speculation. Now Apple has updated the status of its six companies to be limited
There are currently no indications that any outside source has asked Apple for this change it looks like it's done by itself. There is no doubt a move that will allow Apple to showcase its work in Ireland in more detail.
While waiting for the official response of the European Union, when have we seen such a center? force the country to demand its own tax? Let's talk in the comments.
