We have been talking for many months and commenting on leaks that Apple is working on a new home-focused device as well as a possible new operating system (homeOS?) focused on home device management. Speaking of hardware, what would something like a HomePod with a screen or an iPad with a stand and speaker. Well, according to the latest rumors, although everything indicated that March would be presented, it is delayed.
The same rumors that commented on the possibility that Apple would increase the number of smart devices for our home (such as a camera or doorbell with integrated FaceID, which are not expected before 2026), now say that This “Home-Hub” will be delayed and will not be presented in March.
According to Bloomberg, the device will have a 7 inch screen with this new operating system that I mentioned at the beginning and known internally under the code “Pebble”. However, the device would also use App Intents which will arrive with iOS 18.4 or iOS 19 with Apple Intelligence improvements. These Application Intents These are nothing more than features that developers can offer in their own apps so that other apps or devices can benefit from them.
This last information could mean that the delay and that the device arrives more complete, could be delayed until iOS 19 arrives (which would bring us to September despite its presentation at WWDC in June).
If you are interested in this device and plan to have it in mid-2025, Everything indicates that the wait will be long. We will see how events develop.
