Apple released watchOS 8.1 Developer Beta 4 a few hours ago. In this new version, what is essentially offered are bug fixes found in previous version and stability improvements of the system itself. In these beta versions for developers released in recent hours, what Apple intends to maintain maximum stability to be able to launch the final version in a short time. These final versions for all users may not arrive until January.
Personally, I’m not a user who uses beta versions on devices beyond those released for the Mac, I still install them but on an external drive to avoid issues. The option to install these new betas doesn’t really appeal to me because of the new features they add, it doesn’t look like we have too many changes and that’s why I see better waiting for the final version. In any case, anyone who has already installed the previous beta on the Apple Watch only has to updating Apple Watch preferences via OTA and voila, they will already have beta 4 installed.
What we need to be clear is that with the beta versions of the Apple Watch, we need to be very careful because an issue could put our watch completely out of service. The logical thing is that this does not happen since we’ve been using public beta for a while, even under watch, and it seems to be working fine, but keep in mind that betas are trial versions and may not always work 100% both in function and in apps.
