The beta period of the new iOS 17 update is over. Apple just released iOS 17.3 and other software versions for your devices. The iPhone is where we find the greatest number of new features already seen in the first beta version launched more than a month ago.
And it’s a important update for visual and functional innovations. The proof is that they add a new anti-theft function, in addition to introducing a novelty already announced during WWDC 2023 and that an error related to Wi-Fi is corrected.
The main new features coming to the iPhone with iOS 17.3
If you have an iPhone compatible with iOS 17, you can now update to this iOS 17.3, in which you will find a list of improvements which, without being as complete as iOS 17.0, includes important elements:
- Anti-theft function Which, unfortunately, will not prevent the theft of your phone, but it will make it more difficult to appropriate our iPhone. These sometimes took advantage of knowing our security code to disable Face ID, change the Apple ID password and much more. A protection mode can now be activated which will require the use of Face ID to make these changes when we are away from our usual locations.
- Collaborative playlists on Apple Music, a feature announced in June, which was included in the iOS 17.2 betas and was ultimately not added to this version. As its name suggests, it is about being able to create playlists shared between two or more users.
- AirPlay support in hotelsa new feature also announced in June that will allow certain hotels to transmit iPhone content to in-room televisions.
- New wallpaper in commemoration of Black History Month, something already common at Apple and which are accompanied by a new dial and a new strap for the Apple Watch in the identity colors of the cause: black, red, green and yellow.
- Goodbye to Wi-Fi problems when using certain applications such as social networks, a problem that many of us encountered with strange errors such as, even connected to the network and without problems, the content of the applications did not load. This issue has already been fixed in the latest iOS 17.3 betas.
Apart from this, Apple cites other bug fixes and security improvements which are typical of this type of updates. Of course, no major bugs have been reported (at least for now) putting non-iOS 17.3 devices at risk.
