One of the worst trends in the mobile market has undoubtedly been the removal of the 3.5mm jack port for connecting wired headphones. There are only a few brands left, like the Sony Xperia, that still have this connection, the favorite of those who prioritize sound quality.
Although there are methods to get high definition audio on your mobile, these are additions that not everyone can afford. And while it is true that new chips for wireless headphones may improve quality, traditional wired “headphones” remain unbeatable.
If you still have a pair of wired headphones that you don’t want to part with, Moondrop’s latest release may be just what you’ve been waiting for. His name is MIADE 01and it is a mobile phone specially designed for enjoying music.
The cell phone designed for music
Although it is a relatively young brand (it was founded in 2015), in a very short time it has managed to become a reference for audiophiles and users who want take the leap to high definition sound. Its products are earphones and “headphones” with striking designs and based on new technologies such as planar speakers.
It should therefore come as no surprise that the MIAD 01’s priority is audio quality. And yes, that means it has a wired headphone output; or rather he has two. In addition to the traditional 3.5mm connection, it also has a balanced 4.4 mm outputwhich is preferred by audiophiles by eliminating the interference that bothers them so much.

To ensure the best sound quality via both outputs, this is one of the few phones with a high definition DAC (digital analog converter), specifically from the MasterHifi brand by Cirrus Logic; In addition to sound quality, it offers benefits such as better volume control not usually seen on smartphones.
Through the use of an advanced DAC, the MIAD 01 delivers dynamic range values similar to those of a dedicated external device. And again to avoid internal electrical interference, this mobile has its own power supply and independent circuit for the entire sound part.

Another striking detail lies in the “software”, and not because of what is included, quite the contrary. Moondrop promises a pure Android experiencewith no add-ons or ads, and the only app it has promoted is its DSP (digital sound signal processor) compatible media player.
With so much priority on the sound part, it is not surprising that the rest of the mobile is not very sharp. It is based on a mid-range processor, the MediaTek 7050, although it is at least accompanied by a good amount of RAM, 12 GB, while the storage is 256 GB with the option of use a microSD up to 2TB (another detail that we see less and less). The MIAD 01 battery is 5,000 mAh, compatible with 33 WM fast charging; A great detail is that the USB-C connection uses the 3.1 standard, to obtain higher transfer rates, which is necessary to transfer our music files in FLAC, for example.

Being a Moondrop product, the design will not leave you indifferent, both cell phones and everything related to them like packages. Of course, even though the thickness of most of the phone is only 9.15mm, we notice that at the top of the phone it increases a lot, since that’s probably where the DAC and all the hardware will be located. components necessary for sound.
The Moondrop MIAD 01 will be available in China for 2,499 yuan, or around 320 dollars To change; although the company has announced that it will also be available on the global market, so it is possible that a store specializing in sound will bring it to Europe.
