The iPad Air 2024 could arrive with two screen sizes and an M2 chip
This is perhaps one of the most interesting new features of the iPad range this year 2024 beyond the renewal of the iPad Pro range with the implementation of OLED technology. The iPad Air with a 12.9-inch screen will be a reality and its possible design has now been leaked.
Apple is developing a 12.9-inch iPad Air to match the dimensions of the larger iPad Pro. Early rumors about this product indicated that two different codes (J507 and J508) from the iPad Air project had been identified, so it would not be unreasonable to think that there will be two iPad Air models with 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch screens
Anyway, recently 91mobiles leaked what they would be the first rendered images of the 12.9-inch iPad Air.
The design of the 12.9-inch iPad Air
After spending an entire year in 2023 without updating any of its iPad models, Apple is going all out in 2024 with new versions of the iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air and iPad Pro.
Leaked images of 91 mobiles belong to rendered CAD files of the first 12.9-inch iPad Air prototypes obtained through “industrial sources”.

These iPad Air 2024 schematics suggest some very interesting little design changes. Even though the tablet would continue to have a Touch ID sensor located on the lock buttonthere is a change in the rear camera design with a small dent on the lens module and flash.
Apple’s previous generation iPad Air and iPad Pro also have a bump on their cameras, but it only surrounds the lens. In the case of the 12.9-inch iPad Air, the module integrates the camera and flash, recalling the design format of the legendary iPhone X from 2018.

The increased screen size of the iPad Air 2024 means a change in strategy similar to the planning Apple uses with its iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 lineswith the iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 15 Plus models with a large screen and a more affordable price.
Apple sells its iPad Air 2022 at a price starting at 769 dollars. So the iPad Air with a 12.9-inch screen will have a price above 800 dollars.
The 12.9-inch iPad Air is rumored to arrive in the first half of 2024, while the iPad Pro with OLED screen could arrive in April. We’ll see what ends up happening, but there are some very interesting developments coming to the iPad family.
