The Huawei P9 was presented in 2016 as the flagship of the Chinese firm incorporating interesting novelties such as its dual rear sensor signed Leica, thus becoming the The company’s first device to mount cameras signed by the famous German company.
This smartphone arrived with the EMUI 4.0 customization layer based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and over time we saw its useful life come to an end with EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo. But now, more than five years after its launch
Updated security fixes and other system performance improvements
As reported by ITHome, Huawei is launching the EVA-TL00 Firmware Version 8.0.0.558 (C01) which has a total weight of around 318MB and which, at least for now, is only available in the Chinese versions of the Huawei P9.
According to the patch notes, this one incorporates updated security fixes and other improvements to system performance. Among them we find the optimization of the smart search function that is activated by sliding the finger down on the home screen and with which we can quickly access the various functions of the system even if the device is offline.
In addition, it is also stated that the system stability has been optimized and an app recommendations folder has been added to the home screen, plus the removal of preinstalled apps such as AutoNavi and WPS Office.
As we can see, this update will help our already veteran Huawei P9 to have slightly more optimal performance although, as we mentioned, for the moment it will be reserved only for the Chinese versions of the terminal. However, since the Huawei P9 introduced the smart charging feature to all markets last year, this software update will probably also arrive in the world soon, we will therefore remain attentive to any news in this regard.
