This year we are seeing changes in the launches of major companies. Apple is one of the few that has not moved its calendar, but Google and Samsung have brought forward their announcements a little. In the case of the American company, we know that the Pixel 9 will be presented in August, almost two months earlier than usual.
In the case of Samsung, it has been confirmed that the launch of its foldable devices will take place on July 10, although in this case it is possible that the ring will take center stage. Xiaomi is another of the companies that is working on new mobile phones, although we still do not have presentation dates. The star model of each year, which in 2024 will be the Xiaomi 15will surely be announced at the end of this year, being one of the first, if not the first, to have the Qualcomm processor which will be announced at an event in the fall.
But even if there is no specific date, some of the features of this smartphone will have started to leak. More precisely, the data of the normal model, not the Pro, which should also be presented alongside it. The Ultra model would arrive, if there is no change compared to what happened in previous generations, a few months later.
This device will have a contained diagonal, at least for what we are used to seeing in the smartphone sector. will have a 1.5K resolutionthat is, more than FHD but less than 2K, and it would be a rival in size to the iPhone 16, Pixel 9 or Samsung Galaxy S24. The main camera will be 50 Mpx, and it will have a large opening, which would confirm that it would not have a variable opening system like that of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which is logical since it is the smallest in the family. would also include wireless charging and ultrasonic fingerprint sensornot optical. This type of sensor is used by Samsung in its best terminals and is safer.
Although this model is expected to be announced in China in the fall, it is logical that it will not be available in Europe until next year. Normally Xiaomi announces the international version of its best terminals in the MWC Barcelona, which in 2025 will be held in early Marchbeing one of the few years that does not start in February.
