Only a month ago Telegram 9.4 arrived with some exciting news for the messaging app. Now it’s Telegram 9.5 the latest version. In it, despite functional innovations, they focus above all on improving performance.
And it is that this latest update, already available on Google Play, includes options very oriented towards less powerful Android mobiles or that they are not having their best time because they are already a bit old. We review all of these new features below.
Energy saving mode
Telegram itself speaks of the “beauty and lightness” of its animations. And whether they are or not (it’s up to the consumer to decide), the truth is that they tend to use more battery than normal. So they set up new settings to save battery disable some of these effects.
So, in the settings there is the “energy saving” mode which allows enable or disable individually effects such as animated stickers and emojis, animations in calls or automatic GIFs.
Although the striking thing about this function is that it won’t always turn them off, but when it reaches a certain battery percentage. This can be set with a bar at the top of the settings panel, which can set anything from 1% to 100%.
Very slow or very fast voice messages
The famous “audios”. Either you hate them or you love them. The fact is that in Telegram it would be allowed to listen to them at normal speed or 2x (1.5x also lately). NOW new options are added to listen to it at “slow” (0.5x), “normal” (1x), “medium” (1.2x), “fast” (1.5x), “very fast” (1.7x) speed or “great” . fast” (2x). Just press and hold the speed icon at the top to reveal these options.
You can now see the time the message was read (in some groups)
Unlike WhatsApp, in Telegram you cannot know what time a message was read. Only if it has been read. This information is provided in this release. in small groups. And for that, you only have to tap once on the message.
New animated emojis, reactions and other changes in Telegram 9.5
Having already seen the most relevant features of this version, we will do a quick overview of the other new features added by this latest update. Very oriented almost everything towards the visual.
- Group invites: invitations can now be sent by private message to users whose addition to groups has been prohibited.
- Bots translated into more languages: If it was already a novelty in previous versions to be able to translate bot descriptions, in Telegram 9.5 more languages are added.
- More emojis and animated reactions: 👾😡😎🤷♀️🤷🤷♂️ these emojis are now reactions that when run provide an animation for everyone to see. Also, if sent as separate emojis, they will receive new animations.
- 10 custom emoji packs: Telegram Premium users receive, in addition to the above, up to ten animated emoji packs that only they can use (although they are visible to users free in chat).
- “The Great Bug Hunt”: This is how Telegram titles the correction of up to 400 known errors in previous versions.
