Android 14 is already available for some smartphones in its beta version, which means that some of the changes that will arrive in this next version of Android are already visible, and one of the most notorious will be the color scheme.

Google introduced Material You as its new design language, with a rather interesting novelty like adaptive themes, which make your smartphone change its color scheme depending on the wallpaper.
Now it looks like Google wants to improve this feature for Android 14, and one of the changes it’s preparing is the arrival of stronger colors, unlike the pastel tones we saw in Android 13.
Google bets on intense colors for Android 14
Android 12 and Android 13 were marked by a strong presence of pastel colors, and that would be about to change with Android 14, while still maintaining a proper color choice to make all content look good on screen. .
According to 9to5Google, the company is making changes to Android 14 aimed at making colors more vibrant than what we’ve seen in those previous versions of Android, in which wallpaper colors have been replaced with softer colors in the interface. .

This new “Fidelity” style is now available in Android 14 code, making it comparable to differences from the current color scheme.
As you can see in the image comparison below th is paragraph, to the left is the current style, in which the floating button and the star icon, as well as the header text, have softer tones and more discreet.
This allows for easier combinations without affecting visibility, and with the new color style, Google wants to add a touch of intensity so that accent colors are more relevant in each theme.
We’ll have to wait until this year’s Google I/O to find out more about this design change, but everything indicates that it will be one of the few things that Google changes from Material You in favor of more faithful customization for users. .
