Fortnite is going to have a special “goodbye” event for iOS players and it all looks like this a strategy to improve your campaign against Apple.
Epic Games announces #FreeFortnite Cup

Now as with all legal issues, the Epic Games disagreement with Fortnite outside of the App Store and Apple has retained its position and ensured that there will be no exceptions, it is being planned a unique event
