Apple introduced important new features and tweaks in the third beta of iOS 18.3, moving closer to the final version of its operating system. This update promises to improve the user experience, especially in areas related to Apple Intelligence and new customizable features. The changes seek to resolve criticisms and issues found in previous versions while implementing interesting innovations. At this point we can already define what's new in the final version of iOS 18.3.
Main new features of iOS 18.3
Compatibility with robot vacuum cleaners in the Home app
Now it's possible control functions such as power, cleaning mode and charging status robot vacuum cleaners directly from the Home application. Additionally, these devices can be integrated with automations and respond to Siri commands, making it easy to include them in scheduled cleaning routines.
Apple Intelligence notification summaries
One of the biggest new features is the Temporarily disabling notification summaries for news and entertainment apps. This change addresses issues found with the feature, which resulted in inaccurate and misinterpreted headlines with numerous complaints from users and media. Now Apple clearly indicates to users that summaries may contain errors and warns directly from the section of Settings. In addition:
- The text of summaries will be displayed in italics to differentiate them from normal notifications.
- Added an option to disable lock screen or notification center summaries.

Improvements to Genmoji and Messages tools
The tool Genmoji, which allows you to create personalized emojis. You can access it from the side menu of the Messages app by tapping the “+” button. This is one of the most striking new features that we saw during the presentation of iOs 18 at the last WWDC.
Camera control update
The camera control button can now be used as on conventional cameras to lock focus and exposure. When you use it, Apple changed the setting name “AE/AF” for “Lock focus and exposure”. This change aims to make its purpose more understandable, especially for those who are unfamiliar with photographic terms. Additionally, in the settings, the icon for this function is compatible with dark mode.
Other notable changes
Additionally, improvements have been incorporated into PDF editing, adding a warning when you cut content. This ensures that users are aware that truncated information is still present in the document, providing greater control and security, especially for sensitive content.
What to expect from the final version?
