With each patent, it seems that Apple introduces a feature of the Reality Pro. a presentation in booklets which goes much more unnoticed than we might think. It is true that the patents are nothing more than that, but if we add rumors from other sources, the pieces start to fit together quickly.
This is the case of the patent in question, one for display an immersive video via an augmented/virtual reality headset
More parts for Apple Reality
As noted in Patently Apple, the patent studies “immersive video streaming”. Technology that would allow Apple show us a three-dimensional video through an augmented reality headset or virtual. The idea is that the system can, depending on where we direct our gaze, display one or another section of said video.
The patent also explores the possibility of add a window, which would allow the video data stream to be contained within a region of space and remain fixed relative to us as we move. Besides being almost a goodbye when you go to the movies, it’s the same technology that Gurman told us about a few days ago when he commented that Apple Reality would work as an external display for the Mac
While features like this are something we could almost take for granted in a virtual or augmented reality headset like the one we hope to see soon, the truth is that confirming suspicions in the form of a patent is always interesting
More if we add Apple TV+ to the equation, which Apple could have adapted from the first minute of launch to play content on our glasses as if we were in a cinema. Nail much larger screen than the TV shown to us while on the couch – although it won’t replace going to the cinema for many – it really grabs your attention.
