Just a few weeks ago, we announced that Epic Games had formalized the approval of the Epic Games Store within the Apple ecosystem in the European Union after a long rifirafe with Apple for the new regulations. This big step meant that the game Fortnite, absent from the App Store since August 2020, would once again reach iPhones and iPads in the European Union. A new statement from Epic Games a few hours ago indicates that Fortnite is coming to the EU very soon and one more news: It will do so through the Epic Games Store and at least three alternative stores, including AltStore.
AltStore to also host Epic Games’ ‘Fortnite’
Fortnite, one of Epic Games’ most popular games, became widely known in 2020. However, the company criticized Apple’s App Store policies, including the 30% commission for in-game payments. In August 2020, Epic allowed direct purchases in Fortnite, bypassing Apple’s commission and offering discounts, leading Apple to Ban the game from your store for violating your rules. Since then, the two companies have been in litigation over monopolistic practices. This conflict has caused changes in European Union Digital Markets Actallowing Epic Games to return to iOS and iPadOS.

Fortnite will soon return to iOS in the European Union, and the Epic Games Store is coming to Android globally and iOS in the European Union, offering all developers a favorable deal: a 12% store fee for payments we process and 0% for third-party payments.
Likewise, Epic Games took the opportunity to announce that Fortnite and the rest of its games will also arrive in other alternative stores in the European Union, including AltStore:
As operators of the Epic Games Store, we’ll take this opportunity to offer all developers great deals on our store. And as game developers, we want to do everything we can to support other stores that are working to offer all developers their own great deals. In exciting news, we’ve announced that our mobile games will be coming to AltStore on iOS in the EU, and we hope to announce support for at least two more third-party stores soon.

The rest of the world will still not be able to enjoy it, waiting for one day, even if it is very doubtful, Apple launches the same policies that it has been applying in Europe since iOS 17.4.
