This integration was announced in the past Google I/O 2021 but we had to wait nearly a year for this feature to start reaching the first devices at contribute to improving the security of its users.

For years, the Google Chrome browser allowed us to save all our passwords in the cloud to take advantage of their auto-complete at login, but it doesn’t just do that. It also performs a security check for detect if any of our passwords have been exposed during a leak.
When Chrome detects that one of our passwords has been breached, it shows us a warning and direct access to to change the password, and until today, you had to perform this password change step by step. We had to enter the website, identify ourselves and from your account options, change the password to a secure password.
Well, as Google announced almost a year ago, now Google Assistant can automatically change this password. For some websites, the “Change password” option will be replaced by the new “Change automatically” option identified by the Google Assistant logo.
This password change will be made by the Google Assistant using improved Google Duplex technology, which started four years ago making reservations over the phone and then moving to making reservations and orders over the Internet, now taking decision to change compromised passwords. .
The Google Assistant AI is able to automatically sign in, access account settings, and change the password without the user having to do anything. The new password will be saved in Google’s password manager.
What is unknown is in which languages, countries or websites the new Google Assistant integration with Google Password Manager is already available. At the moment, it has only been detected in the United States in the English version of the official Samsung website.
