Google announced a significant improvement in voice quality of its TTS synthesis engine, those available for Android apps through the Google Voice Services app, which is updated from Google Play.
In the coming weeks, 64-bit mobiles (normal today) will receive an update to the application that the 421 voices in 67 languages with more natural voices with better sound quality.
Better voices are coming to Android
Android phones that include Google services include the app preinstalled Google voice services, Android’s text-to-speech (TTS) engine. Developers can take advantage of this in their applications, to include TTS functionality without the need to include logic in the applications themselves.
Now Google has announced a “significant” improvement to this TTS engine, built with newer voice data and under a new stack resulting in you are less robotic, more natural and of better quality. Best of all, neither users nor developers will have to lift a finger to enjoy it. Applications will use this new engine as long as it is installed and users the update will arrive in the next few weeksthrough Google Play.
