The “interior view on the street” arrives on mobile
Several of the great novelties that Google Maps has reserved for mobiles concern the navigation to navigation phone in hand. And the most striking is “Immersive view” or inverted view, a kind of Street View for the interior of buildings that will allow users to know what they will find once they arrive at their destination; in addition to knowing the exteriors with more detailed 3D areas.
In addition to 3D navigation inside buildings, Google Maps is improving another of the key elements of its mobile application: Live View. Augmented reality with which it is possible to find routes by letting yourself be guided by your mobile now not only offers the destinations of said routes, it also allows search for places, establishments and other premises in order to reach them easily by being guided by the camera and by the indications superimposed on the screen.
Another novelty, “Neighborhood Vibe” or neighborhood atmosphere, a series of local recommendations that Maps will offer the user based on community opinions, site visits and photos uploaded to the mapping platform. These recommendations the visual aspect will take precedence to make your navigation attractive.
Two final things to note are the increased 3D views of famous buildings (more places will stand out on the map with detailed 3D construction) and the ability for developers to use the new route planning tools saving maximum fuel. All of this Google Maps news will be coming to the US starting today; with a international expansion in the coming months, Google assures that by 2023. Europe included.
