In October 2021, Google announced that during November of that year they would arrive profiles to Google TVbut weeks later, the company announced that this feature had been delayed and until today we had heard nothing more about it.
Today the company announced that it has already started implement profiles on Google TVone of the features Android TV users have been asking for for years, because it didn’t make much sense not to allow each member of a family to have their own profile when using the TV .
Google TV Profiles
Google TV profiles allow each member of a household to have your own personalized space to enjoy their own recommendations series and movies and have your own personal playlist. You will no longer have to “Continue watching” the series and films of other relatives or the suggestions of content that does not correspond to your tastes.
Google TV profiles also allow users to access their own watch list and receive personalized answers in the searches of google assistant. Until now, they could only access the library of the user who signed in during setup, which limited other users to only being able to switch accounts within apps such as YouTube .
To create a new profile, just go to the Google TV home screen, scroll to our profile picture located at the top right, select our name and then enter ‘+ Add account’.
The output of this feature is staggered. Google TV profiles will be rolling out to all users in the coming weeks. When the new update arrives, we will be able to create more profiles in our Chromecast with Google TV TCL or Sony TV with Google TV.
