Given that the Google Pixel has a camera app that handles quick and snappy photos extremely well at first glance, installing a modified GCam usually paves the way for better photography. And it’s worth following the progress: BigKaka is already working on GCam 9.4. We tried it and it is definitely worth it.
It continues to be updated from time to time, especially with the release of each new Google Pixel family. And little by little the developers transform their exclusive application into suitable for almost all android
Google Camera version 9.4. With manual adjustment and custom profiles
In the development panorama, there is a small pocket dedicated to modifying the Google Pixel camera application to not only make it suitable for other mobiles, Many versions improve on Google’s original. BigKaka is one of the best known: its GCam usually includes advanced control settings, LUT profiles and a host of small parameters to take photos at an almost professional level.
Currently, the most installed version on Google Pixels is the 9.4 camera; although version 9.5 is also available (it is the one that comes standard with the Google Pixel 9). In our Google Pixel 8 Pro we only have the one mentioned, the 9.4. And now it also has its own GCam version.
As reported on Celso Azevedo’s page, a regular GCam website, developer BigKaka is in the early stages of making Google Camera 9.4 stable. The current version 2.0 is starting to be polished, although may still exhibit some instability. We tested it on a Xiaomi equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity chip and, in our tests, the results were very favorable.
Various predefined filters, ability to create and load your own capture profiles, manual settings, customizable image processing, ability to add a watermark, JPEG file quality adjustment, adjusting the curve from the camera viewfinderadvanced developer options… BigKaka has done a great job of porting and improving this updated version of Google Camera.
The APK is available for download on Celso Azevedo’s website. It is malware-free, weighs 428 MB and is valid for phones with Android 10 and above (it will not work properly on all of them, a drawback of any GCam).
