The entry level is an increasingly interesting segment in Europe. These are basic smartphones, they can perform all kinds of functions, but at a price very reasonable priceand thanks to them they are ideal for basic users or as a gift for the little ones when the time comes to have their first mobile phone.
In EL ESPAÑOL – El Androide Libre we have currently tested one of the cheapest smartphones on the market, the realme Note 50, a device that, with a quite striking appearance, aims to conquer users who are looking for a basic mobile phone and who meets your needs.
It’s a pretty interesting smartphone that for 99 dollars It incorporates a large battery and a 90 Hz screen thanks to which you can experience a fairly fluid sensation that other devices of a similar price do not have.
An eye-catching design
In a mobile phone worth less than 100 dollars like this, the design is usually not a section that stands out too much. However, realme wanted to give you some interesting details to make it quite pleasing to the eye. At least on the back, since the front, with a drop-shaped notch and a lower frame more rounded than the rest, does not recall devices from a few years ago.
On the back, the company has integrated two different areas with a different feel and appearance. At the top, housing the cameras, we find a strip with a glossier finish. At the bottom, the matte feel makes it pleasant to the touch. Both parts are the same colorin this case blue, just like the sides of the device.
Its two cameras are located one above the other, with a third circumference located halfway where the LED flash is. On its right side we find the volume and power buttonswhile on the underside there is the speaker and the 3.5mm jack for headphones.
Although it is a device with a very low price, it is easy to appreciate the company’s intention to make which has good finishessomething that can be ideal to give to the little ones as a first cell phone.
Fair screen and power
The realme Note 50 is a mobile phone with a fairly large screen. This has a diagonal of 6.74 inches, and this makes it a device in which it is quite comfortable to browse the Internet or social networks. Having a refresh rate of 90 Hz allows for good operation, as long as the processor allows it.
Its resolution is HD+, which means some power savings, although the content won’t be particularly sharp. However, it is sufficient for users who wish to give it basic use, even if they seek to consume multimedia content several times a day. After all, there are concessions that are made in exchange for being able to buy it for less than 100 dollars.
The same thing happens with its power section. This smartphone features a Unisoc T612 processor, an entry-level model accompanied by 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storagea very basic combination with which you can browse the Internet and social networks, as well as use messaging applications.
Regarding the battery, the mobile has excellent performance. This has a capacity of 5,000 mAh, which makes which lasts all day without any problem, even more so if the device is rarely used. In addition, it includes 10W fast charging, it’s not very fast, but it’s enough to recharge it at night without problem.
Camera at the price
This is usually not the brightest point of entry-level mobile phones, and this case is no exception. The device undertakes to integrate only two sensors, the main one with a 13 MP resolution and another 2 Mpx monochrome sensor. A simple and sufficient configuration for this price range.
Photos taken in daylight look quite acceptable, with a good variety of colors and good detail for the segment we’re talking about. Sometimes the end result overuses artificial sharpening, making the photograph look unnatural.
At night, the result deteriorates significantly, meaning the camera can only be used in situations where there is sufficient artificial light. This is what you would expect from a mobile phone with these characteristics in which the camera is not one of its strongholds.
I buy it?
The realme Note 50 is one of the cheapest smartphones currently available on the market, and this price of only 99 dollars makes it quite attractive, although it is not a mobile that we recommend to everyone.
This sharp drop in price means that we are facing a fairly basic mobile in some of its sections. Power is part of it, since it is a device designed for basic daily tasks, how to surf the internet a little or consult social networks. You’ll have trouble trying to open demanding games, and you won’t even be able to run some of them.
Its screen is sufficient for daily use, and thanks to the fact that it has a refresh rate of 90 hours, it offers a good feeling of fluidity. In this sense, the experience is good, even if The resolution means you can’t enjoy a lot of detailwhich is also normal considering the price.
In short, it is an ideal mobile phone for the little ones or for basic users who simply want a mobile phone for calling, browsing and nothing else. It can also be a great spare device in which to run WhatsApp and some other apps in some emergency situations.
