2022 was to be the year of ‘Apple Glass’, the augmented and/or virtual reality viewer the company is rumored to be planning to release. However, from what Mark Gurman has heard, some apparent issues in the design and operation of the device they can postpone this launch until 2023.
Too polished for a summer presentation
Bloomberg sources claimed that Apple had problems with cameras and viewing software, in addition to overheating problems. Recall that there are leaks indicating that the charger of this device would be 96W, which suggests a lot of power stuck in our face.
Cupertino’s original plan was reportedly to showcase the headset at WWDC22 in June, but that could now be pushed back to the end of the year or even 2023. Apple is looking to convince the market that VR glasses and headsets can have utility beyond a specific type of game
Remember that these are only rumours, so do not lament or complain about a product that does not yet exist and about which nothing has been officially said. Apple already has a very chaotic schedule with the development and evolution of all of its products and operating systems, and creating another division out of thin air doesn’t have to be easy. Better they take longer and release it more polite than not go against the clock
