Although the different streaming platforms guarantee hours and hours of entertainment in front of the television and other devices, there is life beyond Netflix, Disney+ and company and for example, IPTV listings. View an IPTV listing on your Smart TV with Android TV, Google TV or a Chromecast It’s as simple as uploading them to a specific app for IPTV listings.
From there, simply enter the URL, IP address or file where these IPTV lists are hosted to load them so they are available. There are some interesting candidates (some with over 10,000 channels), but this one is my favorite because it is an open source IPTV list with channels from around the world.
As I mentioned in the introduction, the IPTV Free TV list is open source and compiles free internet broadcasts from global TV (you won’t find paid channels), with channels from the US, UK United, Canada and many Asian countries and most TNT are present. The philosophy of this list goes through quality over quantity
The three essential applications to play IPTV lists for my Google Chromecast
Once the presentation is made, here is the project’s GitHub page, where you will see a link to the M3U list that you will need to copy and paste into an IPTV list download and playback application. Here are the three that cannot be missing on my Google TV with Chromecast due to their quality and performance.
Kodi
There are few apps as important to have on a Smart TV, Chromecast and even for your tablet or mobile phone as Kodi for its versatility, robustness and completeness. Because yes, it is suitable for creating a media server and as a player, but it is also useful for loading an IPTV list simply with the PVR IPTV Simple Client addon from the official list. Come on, if you like to taste like me, I’m sure you already have it installed, and if not it’s a must-have.
To load the list you have to download both the application and the corresponding addon and all that remains is to add the list with the URL and that’s it. Extra: If you also want to record the content, install the IPTV Recorder add-on as well.
- Download it for free from the Google Play Store.
Wise game
I admit that my favorite application for IPTV lists is Wiseplay, which I have already told you about for two reasons: I like the simplicity and Its interface is the simplest in the world and how effective is it?
Actually, supports a huge list of video and audio formats and as you can see from these lines, by pressing ‘Options’ > ‘Add List’ and pasting it, you would already have it available.
- Download it for free from the Google Play Store.
VLC
Other app capable of rivaling Kodi in terms of versatility and popularity It’s VLC. In my case, I installed it because I like its simplicity. which can handle everything (in terms of formats) and its subtitle options. So, among the many things it allows, there is entering an IPTV list of an M3U file or with the URL and once inside you can see it or move between channels, so if you already have it installed like me, you won’t need more and it meets this basic use.
- Download it for free from the Google Play Store.
