Soon HBO Max in Europe will simply be Max. In this way, the service wants to promote a new experience and thus get closer to Netflix. Today, one of its novelties is the new “captcha” system used for human identification when you log in to the account, but it has various methods that make it difficult to answer your questions properly.
Always it remains to be seen what content Max will offer when it will land here in Europe, as well as whether it will continue to hold the offer when HBO Max launches in 2021; which allowed access to half the price of the lifetime monthly subscription.
In the meantime, the streaming platform has launched a new user identification system, often called “captcha”, which has caused a user uploaded a video about their journey to be able to pass the various tests which he had to face.
A very confusing system
And it is that in addition to presenting different methods for the human identification of the person behind the account, the placement of buttons in visual test prevents it from being considered valid. That is to say that the first displays the number 16 and dice right next to it. You need to click on the arrows until you find the picture with the necessary amount.
What happens is that the buttons only hide the dice which add up to the correct sum, in this case the number 16. In the uploaded video, the user is surprised by the failure of the system to pass the next test, with which he hopes to successfully identify.

But you’re in the same room with another challenge which again leads to laughter and confusion. This is audio and asks the user for the repeating pattern of the three options offered. Click ‘play’ and three shrill melodies begin to play, almost impossible to identify their pattern.
Much to his surprise, he fails again grabbing the first option as the correct one, only to have to repeat the challenge with the same sounds. He finally reaches the third, but come on, almost by chance and throw. A new identification system that will have its reason for being, but that goes beyond the limits so that anyone can abandon it and go to another platform to enjoy multimedia content.
we will see it if HBO Max finally rectifies and replace this system that leads anyone to the street with bitterness, and, at least in Europe, bring another simpler one, like those that Google has been offering for years.
