With the Honor Magic5 Lite presented a week ago and having already met the Honor Magic5 Pro (with the foldable Honor Magic Vs) as the top of the range from the manufacturer of Chinese origin, it was time to meet the middle brother: the Honor Magic5. Quite simply, no nicknames of any kind.
This terminal was announced at the switch to MWC 2023 and although it is obviously below the ‘Pro’, it offers some interesting incentives. Actually shows a very similar aesthetic to that of its siblings and some of its specs aim just as high.

The curves also reach the standard model
As seen in the ‘Pro’, the Honor Magic5 offers a very similar aesthetic section with a 6.73 inch curved screen. It also maintains the 120Hz of refresh rate, although it slightly reduces its resolution and its technology is OLED.
If we talk about the rear we also see a very similar aesthetic, in particular highlighting the pronounced circular chamber module in which the triple lens is housed and whose color is consistent with that of the chosen device (black or blue). The frames are straight, although being a mobile with a curved screen, they give the feeling of being narrow.
Why give up the best of Qualcomm?
This question should have been asked to Honor when discussing the intermediate model of its Magic5 series. And it is that this terminal comes with the latest Qualcomm processor
In battery we do not see any cut in the 5100mAh capacity. Neither the 66W fast charge This changes from the “Pro”, although wireless charging is not added in this model, so the cable is the only option.
It is understandable that in practice there are differences in cameras between this model and its big brother. For now, some are already noticeable on paper. Firstly, it is that in the 12-megapixel selfie camera
If we talk about rear cameras, we find one 54 megapixel main lens and 50 wide angle. Where we already appreciate a more than obvious change is in the 32 megapixel telephoto lenswhich is limited to a maximum digital zoom of 50x (the ‘Pro’ reaches 100x).
No software complaints as it will come fully updated to the latest version of the honor layer with MagicOS 7.1. This version, we remind you, is based on Android 13.
Versions and price of the Honor Magic5
Unlike the Honor Magic5 Pro which will be released in Europe in May, This Honor Magic5 will not reach our market. Or at least that’s what they tell us about Honor. In the territories it will eventually reach, it will be available in black or blue colorwith a single configuration of 12+256 GB at a price of 899 dollars.
