How to check your AirTag battery

A little over a year has passed since the official launch of the AirTag and some users are already beginning to wonder about its autonomy, especially since its batteries are not rechargeable. However, the duration of this battery is quite long and not only that, one can predict the change well in advance.

This is how you can check the remaining battery of your AirTag and get ahead of changing the battery to always locate your items. It’s very simple and, as always, in iPhone News we are going to explain all the steps to you in the easiest way.

To begin with, it should be noted that Apple does not offer us a precise way, that is, with a percentage, of knowing how much battery our AirTag has left. We will have to settle for an image like the one proposed in the upper right corner of our iPhone and mentally make an approximate calculation. In theory, the AirTag battery lasts at least a year, although a lot depends on how much you use it and how much you check its location, in my case I still have plenty of battery life a year later. Verification is as simple as this:

  1. Enter request Look for from your Apple device
  2. Choose Objects then the AirTag whose battery you want to check
  3. When the AirTag-specific information is opened, the battery will be displayed in the upper left corner, right in the “play sound” location and below the name.

This will allow you to easily check the battery life of your AirTag. If you need to replace it, you can take a look at our video where we show you step by step, but the first thing you will need is a CR2032 battery which you can easily buy from Amazon or your usual outlet. These batteries (or batteries) cost a little more than a euro each, although they are generally packaged.
