A few months ago, Google launched Nearby Share for Windows, an application with which we can send transfer files between mobile and computer using the native function -on the mobile- of Share with Proximity. We can also use it to share clipboard content between the two systems.
Although sending a text to Windows that we have on the mobile clipboard is relatively intuitive since it is done from the Share menu, get text from windows to android with nearby sharing, it’s a little harder to figure it out on your own. We tell you how it’s done.
Copy and paste to send on mobile
Share with Nearby for Windows acts as a bridge between our Android and Windows mobiles. So, after installing and configuring the application, the PC will appear in the list of devices available to send files with Nearby Share.
So, if we want to copy and paste text from Windows to Android, we will have to install Nearby Share for Windows, from its official website. After downloading the file, open it to start the complete installation and configurationwhich is basically logging in with your Google account and choosing who can send you files.
Now comes the good part and it’s not at all intuitive. To share text from Windows clipboard to Android First we have to copy it to the Windows clipboardeither with the contextual menu or with the classic Control+C.
Then open the Nearby Share window for Windows and paste text inside by pressing Ctrl+V. This will show us the clipboard text in the left column, while nearby devices you can send it to will be displayed on the right.
In applications that allow us select the text and drag it (like Google Chrome, for example), we also have the option of dragging a text and dropping it into the nearby Share with window to start the sending process.
After touching the icon of our mobile, you will receive the notification of the transfer of the text to the mobile. Its origin and a preview of the text
The most curious thing about it is that you will find yourself there with the button Copywhich is the one you need to press so that what you copied from windows can be pasted into other apps on your android mobile.
This way you can copy something in windows and paste it into an app on your android mobile. The process has a few more steps than we’d like, but on the other hand, it gives us more control over what we send and what doesn’t, which is an advantage over automatic sync systems. like those of SwiftKey.
