At the end of 2023, Xiaomi presented its new high-end models, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, in China. The first of them arrives in Europe, with the same operating system as that of its country of origin, HyperOS. This system is the evolution of MIUIthe manufacturer’s legendary interface which has given way to a more powerful and more versatile version.
This is important because Now it will be used not only on cell phones or tablets, but also on watches and cars.
One of the most striking is the area of shortcuts in notifications, the typical buttons that let you access Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, airplane mode, and other settings. Until now, these shortcuts always had text underneath, making it clear what they were for. On HyperOS, by default, these buttons come without textwhich can be a problem for some people, not knowing what each of these buttons is for.
How to put text in shortcuts
Rapier It is easily solved by entering the settings, this is a problem for people who are thinking of buying a Xiaomi mobile and, when they see this area of the interface, they throw them away because they do not know that SMS can be activated. It is strange not that Xiaomi allows these letters to be hidden, but that it does it by default.
To enable the labels of each button, what you need to do is go to the app drawerenter the application Settings and go to the section Notifications and status bar. At the end of this new screen is an option called Do not show icon labels, which is active by default. You just need to disable it.
As can be seen in the image above, the texts of the different buttons will appear, with the only drawback is that they no longer all appear on the screen and you have to scroll a little to display them. However, you can always modify this screen to use fewer buttons since a dozen direct shortcuts are rarely needed in this section. This will allow you to have the buttons with their texts on the screen, without having to scroll them.
