How does this tool work? It's free? Can I have it on any Android phone? What to do We explain everything you need to know step by step.
You can now use the SMS Messaging app as an alternative to WhatsApp
The Google Messaging app is updated and finally introduces RCS-supported chat features in the months after its announcement.
Android Messages: an application to install
All smartphones have an SMS messaging application. The level proposed by Google is messaging, although each manufacturer has the opportunity to use its own application.
Today, if you want to take advantage of RCS functionality, you'll have to apply Messages, the official Google app. If your phone is plugged in, everything is fine, but what if not?
No problem, because we can download an app from Google Play, compatible with almost all Android. After downloading it (in our case, we made it through Samsung, which had its own messaging app), we opened it and will ask us to create our default SMS system. We accept.
Once they are approved, they will upload all the SMS they have in the previous app, because the message log is in the app itself. Click on the ellipsis in the top right corner and enter the settings.
Here you will have to select the first option, called Discussion features. The default option will be enabled, and when we look at it, a link status indicator will appear. To be able to send messages it must appear as Connected.
And it will be. As you can see in the picture above, the left has a request to send messages before commencing chat activities, indicating that the message will be sent via SMS. On the right, the send button has lost an SMS reference, which means you're using chat features.
These services, unlike SMS, are inexpensive, but require us to have an internet connection to operate. Like any other messaging app, if we already make these functions work we can send pictures or create group chats.
Important last minute details that the person we are talking to will have to make the choice. If you do not receive it, you may not receive the messages or reply to them and you should spend money on SMS. So now you know
