With the amount of PDF documents that we manage today, it is extremely common that we need to collect several of them to group them under one document. Something that we can achieve through third-party applications, but that we can also achieve using the same Files app that we all have on our iPhone or iPad.
Select and assemble, just as easily
The Files app performs much better than it looks. From the ability to compress and unzip files to the ability to bundle multiple PDF documents into one, there are little details that we once discovered, they can become essential in our daily life
One of those details is the fact that the ability to create PDF from within the app, which we may be familiar with converting images or text files to PDF, is also used to assemble several. We are doing it :
- We open the app Recordings on our iPhone or iPad.
- We enter the folder that contains the PDF files we want to attach.
- On the iPhone, we touch the button in the shape of three dots in the upper right part and choose To select. On the iPad we touch directly To select.
- We select the documents we want to collect.
- On the iPhone we touch the button in the form of three dots at the bottom right. On the iPad we touch the button More.
- We choose Create PDF.
It’s easy. We will see that a new PDF document appears in the folder where we are, which contains all the documents we have selected. A system that we can use to assemble single page documents or to assemble several documents of several pages each
As we started by saying, the Files app performs a lot better than it looks. Small resources like this make it much easier for us to do some things that previously required a third-party app or go to Preview on our Mac. Fortunately, now assembling multiple PDF files is as easy as selecting them and touching Create PDF.
